Since AOL and Yahoo have long since passed their prime, Gmail and Outlook are probably the first email service providers that spring to mind. Yahoo Mail, on the other hand, is still operational, albeit with a recent redesign.
Yahoo Mail unveiled a redesign on Tuesday, calling it “one of the most significant updates to its desktop experience in nearly a decade.” The update improves your email experience with new AI-powered capabilities and a better user interface.
The business claims that the new modern desktop style, which is visible in the image below, is the most noticeable update. It features a cleaner design to aid with readability, navigation, and visual components.
Users can now perform tasks directly from their inboxes with the redesign, such as monitoring packages, accessing schedules, adding events to calendars, and more. Users may rapidly review their most crucial tasks with the new starred view panel.
The magic of AI then appears. The most crucial emails will appear on a new Priority inbox tab along with one-line summaries of the emails produced by AI. (Yahoo says it was the first to provide this capability in its email service.) The feature is a little different from rivals like Gmail, which requires you to request a summary rather than having it automatically filled in.
AI will produce a bulleted list of suggested actions or answers related to the email’s contents as soon as a user opens it, as shown below. Yahoo claims that the purpose of this is to assist professionals, parents, and students in allocating their time to doing rather than catching up.
Are there any features that you could use with your non-Yahoo account? Yes, regardless of the provider, Yahoo Mail subscribers can now link other email accounts to their Yahoo Mail accounts. This implies that whether you use Gmail, Outlook, or another email service, you can take advantage of the new capabilities all in one place.
In the following months, users will have the option to choose to access the redesigned desktop experience. According to Yahoo, the PC launch will be followed by the mobile version.
